Our client, a leading engineering firm based in Lagos is looking to fill the following positions;

highway civil engineer

1. High Way Civil Engineer

Experience: At least 5years experience. 

The successful candidate will be experienced in engineering as it relates to highway/roadway design, storm water design and traffic engineering or a combination of all and will have the organizational skills necessary to work closely with a lead project engineer to complete all types of roadway design projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Civil Roadway Design / Highway Design
  • Drainage /Storm water Design
  • Traffic Engineering
  • Assist with contract document preparation including plans, specifications, and estimates

Specifications/Skill Required:

  • Bachelor of Science from accredited University with a focus on highway engineering, Masters preferred
  • Proficiency in Civil 3d, Hydro Cad, and Synchro
  • Professional Membership in the Engineering field is desirable (COREN, NSE)

2.  Finance Manager/Accountant

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports (cash flow statement, P & L, balance sheet)
  • Ensure all transactions are uploaded into Peachtree
  • Daily transactional analysis.
  • Liaise with project managers to monitor and control project costs
  • Monthly budgeting
  • Management and reconciliation of stock and raw materials
  • Analyzing any variances between the budget and actual performance
  • Project audits
  • Working capital management
  • Asset Management
  • Payroll Management
  • Manage accounts receivables and payables
  • Calculating tax (federal, state & VAT) and pension liabilities as well as making sure they are paid in a timely fashion

3.  Administrative Assistant/Front Desk

Responsibilities include:

  • Answer general phone inquiries using a professional and courteous manner

  • Weekly requisition of office supplies

IT Officer

4. IT Officer

Responsibilities include:

  • 1st line support experience for Software and hardware fault resolution.
  • Maintenance of a Wordpress based website (create, edit and monitor web pages)
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and repairs of computer hardware and accessories
  • Act as first line of support for all software issues/problems.
  • Familiarize yourself with any existing software we use
  • Maintain the inventory of all IT equipment, relevant documentation, including legal licenses
  • Ensure regular updates, patches and backups of all software applications are completed in a timely manner.
  • Plan for upgrades to ensure that all system remains up-to-date, operational and allow for future demands
  • Monitor and control internet usage
  • Maintain company LAN

Specifications/Skill Required:

  • A minimum of three years’ relevant experience
  • BSc. in Architecture, MSc. In Architecture is an added advantage

6. Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  • Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
  • Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • Performing risk, value management and cost control
  • Advising on procurement strategy
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risk
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
  • Providing advice on contractual claims
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments
  • Maintaining awareness of the different contracts in current use
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations



  • BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying
  • Professional qualification will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years post NYSC qualification experience.
  • Candidates must have worked as QS for a construction company Additional Information
  • Must understand the different types of bonds and where they are applicable – Advance Payment, Retention, Performance, Bid etc
  • Must understand how to prepare material and labour schedule
  • Must be able to prepare BOQ with rates taking off with project drawings
  • Must have excellent understanding of grades of concrete with their mix ratios
  • Must have excellent understanding of how to prepare valuations and variation claims
  • Must understand what terms like penultimate valuation, half moiety, LAD, etc.
  • Must understand how to price project preliminaries in relation to extension of time.
  • Must understand the various methods of valuing preliminaries for an ongoing project
  • Must understand the preambles and conditions of contract – FIDIC , SMM and JCT
  • Must understand the various types of contracts – Fixed, Fluctuating, All inclusive etc
  • Must understand site materials inventory management and control.
  • Must have executed at least two projects with the value of 500 Million Naira each as the QS in charge for a construction company
